Youth Fitness Classes

Youth Group Fitness Classes

These classes are included in your membership and cover a wide age and activity range, designed to be engaging, encouraging and fun for everyone!

  • These are drop in classes - no registration required,
  • Class numbers will be limited for safety,
  • Parents are not required to stay in the room during class unless child needs assistance; all parents must remain on site.

Youth Group Class Descriptions

Art & Crafts
Ages: 5-9 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

Bring your creativity! We will draw, use watercolor, paint or make paper crafts. We will complete a new project each week. Ages 5-9.
Big Gym
Ages: 5-12 yrs
Class Length: 90 mins

Fit Kids Gym in the big gym! This will be the same format as Fit Kids Gym but in a bigger space. Kids will get their exercise for the day while having a great time. For ages 5-12. Families are welcome! 5:00-6:30 pm.
Fun with Languages
Ages: 18 mos - 6 yrs
Class Length: 60 mins

Kids will have a fun, language-rich experience. Learning will be achieved through interactive games, songs and activities focusing on ABC’s, people I know and love, numbers, colors, food and more.
Game Zone
Ages: 5-12 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

Let them run. Let them play. The big gym becomes a playground with staff leading games and supporting cooperative play. We will play sports like soccer or hockey plus other various group games.
Move and Groove
Ages: 1-4 yrs with parent
Class Length: 45 mins

This parent and child class will incorporate a variety of activities such as stretching, movement and dance. We will have fun with imagination and games while being physcially active.
Music and Movement
Ages: 18 mos - 5 yrs
Class Length: 60 mins

This is a learning environment where youth will integrate instruments, imagination games, dance and song. Kids will also learn sign language and to count in other languages. Parent participation is required for kids who are not independent.
Pee Wee Sports
Ages: 3-7 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

We will focus on large motor skills and practice basic sport fundamentals. Kids will kick, throw, run, jump and catch. The goal is to get your child active by having fun with sports.
Tumbling & Games
Ages: 2-6 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

This class explores gymnastics skills with the use of games and basic tumbling. Kids will have fun building and going through obstacle courses that incorporate the skills learned.
Tumbling & Games 2
Ages: 5-10 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

New Tumbling class for older kids! Class follows the same format as Tumbling & Games but youth will learn and work on more advanced tumbling moves.
Twinkle Toes
Ages: 3-7 yrs
Class Length: 60 mins

Drop in and see what the excitement is all about. Dancers will learn a variety of fundamental dance skills and have fun with rhythm, technique and games.
Want to Dance
Ages: 2-5 yrs
Class Length: 60 mins

Expose your child to different types of dance. They will get to practice various steps and movements. Kids will move the body, be expressive, build coordination and play.

Youth Specialized Fitness Classes

These classes allow small groups to learn and grow their skills together over time. Every session we offer a mix of old favorites and new and upcoming fitness options. These classes are progressive and require registration and payment. See Specialized Information for rates and registration information.

GO! Group Training for Youth
Ages: 9-13 yrs
Class Length: 60 mins

A personal trainer will combine exercise with sports, games and fun. There will also be educational components including nutrition and body awareness. Parents will be invited to attend designated classes. You must register at the membership desk and obtain a youth card from the fitness desk. This class is included in a family membership price but there is an extra fee for program participants.
Kung Fu Kids
Ages: 5-8 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

Kung Fu is world renown. Made popular by the movies; this beautiful Martial Art has held the western imagination captive for four decades. Now, it's practiced all over the world. Kung Fu is a great way for children to learn concentration and body-awareness. Kung Fu kids will put an emphasis on rewarding hard work with lots of encouragement and praise. There will be light contact, so kids will learn to be physical. Kids of different ages will work together to build confidence and sensitivity. The focus will be fun!
Kung Fu - Young Masters
Ages: 7-13 yrs

This class introduces children to the art of Kung Fu. Parents, Kung Fu is a full body performance art that develops all the traits of a capable, balanced exerciser. Everyone can feel good about trying Kung Fu! It is a great challenge for active youth, and a great alternative for kids who are turned off by conventional sports. As we progress through the basic stances, youth will work alone as part of the group. This teaches teamwork, focus, and coordination. Then, working in pairs, the Young Masters will discover their space and learn sensitivity through light-contact drills.
Soccer Fun
Ages: 4-7 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

Kids will learn basic soccer fundamentals like dribbling, passing & shooting. We focus on teamwork, motor coordination and listening skills. Kristin Werner will be your soccer coach. She played soccer in college and since then has coached young ages and also with high school and college level teams. Come run off some energy!
Tap, Jazz & Ballet - Beginning
Ages: 2-4 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

Kids get to sample a variety of dances and learn the fun basics of tap, jazz and ballet. There will be a short performance during the last class. A Disney Theme will be incorporated into classes.
Tennis - Beginning
Ages: 7-12 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

Lessons are geared towards beginning players looking to get into the game. Basic skills, etiquette and rules are covered using drills and fun games. Bring your racquet or one will be provided for you.
Tumbling - Advanced
Ages: 5-9 yrs*
Class Length: 45 mins

This is a fun and exciting class that improves coordination, agility and heightens concentration. Learn and refine mat gymnastic skills such as handstands, backbends, round offs and walkovers. Skills on the balance beam will also be incorporated. There will be one on one interaction in order to progress to different skill levels. Come watch our Mini-Olympics during the last class. *Ages 5-7 require prior tumbling experience.

This is an exciting introduction to gymnastics. Youth will learn basic skills like rolls, donkey kicks, bridges and cartwheels. Mats and a balance beam will be used. An experienced instructor will build a routine using curriculum that explores movement and builds coordination. Please join us for our Mini Olympics during the last class.

Just Dance
Ages: 6-12 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

Learn a variety of easy to follow dance steps and routines that you’ll want to do everyday! By exploring a range of styles you willa chieve a well rounded and fun experience. Types of dance include Modern, Jazz, Ballet and Hip Hop.
Let's Pretend
Ages: 3-7 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

This class will introduce your child to acting by using imaginative play, memorization and voice exercises. We will use props and some dress up items; a great class for nurturing your child's artistic and creative side.
Parent & Child Ballet
Ages: 2 1/2 + yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

This class is a beginning ballet program that you can experience with your child. This class will focus on basic ballet movements. You will learn together in class and be able to take those skills with you.
Parent & Child Dance
Ages: 18 mos +
Class Length: 45 mins

Expose yourselves to different types of dance. You will be expressive and have fun with movements like kicks & jumps and learn hip hop and jazz. Take this opportunity to be active and have fun together.
Soccer Fun
Ages: 4-7 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

Kids will learn basic soccer fundamentals like dribbling, passing & kicking. We focus on teamwork, motor coordination and listening skills; come run off some energy!
Tap, Jazz & Ballet
Ages: 2-5 yrs

Youth Shotokan Karate
Ages: 8-12 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

Our youth karate class is designed to discourage fighting and to encourage self-control. We will focus on Karate basics or Kihon which are a variety of techniques including blocks, strikes, punches and kicks.
